Thanks to growing up with a Chiropractor as my dad, I have been lucky enough receive chiropractic adjustments an average of twice of week since I was born. So, I've experienced first-hand the amazing benefits of growing up with an optimally functioning nervous system and a clear pathway for the brain and body connection.
That is why, now as a Chiropractor myself, I'm so passionate about educating on the importance of starting regular chiropractic care to fix the ROOT CAUSE of nervous system interferences from BIRTH!
Even in the most natural of births, a baby’s head is still forced through a small opening, and with such malleable bones, it just takes a tiny bit of pressure for a baby’s spine, primarily their atlas (C1) — the top bone in the neck where the brain stem sits — to go out of alignment.
When there is a bone that is misaligned, this is called a subluxation. According to PX Docs, subluxations can alter the tone of a baby’s neuromotor system, leading to either excessive tension or decreased activation and stability. They can also create imbalance and incoordination within the nervous system, leading to dysfunction with various things such as meeting motor milestones, digestive and immune function, emotional and behavioral regulation and more.
Oftentimes, these issues will show up as symptoms such as constipation, colic, reflux, trouble sleeping, a decreased immune system etc. That is why it’s so important for babies to get checked by a chiropractor after birth!
At The Nest — Family, Pediatric + Prenatal Chiropractic, we use INSiGHT Scanners to assess and determine the function of a baby’s nervous system. This allows me to tailor a care plan to your child’s needs and deliver gentle and specific spinal adjustments to address the ROOT CAUSE of the symptoms your baby is experiencing by restoring optimal function to the nervous system — the brain and body’s control center!
BUT, it’s important to remember that while chiropractic care is an incredible NATURAL way to restore optimal function to your baby’s nervous system, it is not a one adjustment and done fix. It takes a commitment to regular adjustments in the beginning, but the short-term inconvenience has incredible long-term benefits on the overall health of your baby, without the use of medication!
